The ad industry spends so much time discussing SXSWi, that it’s easy to forget that there’s an entire (and bigger, even) music portion that happens right afterwards. More than 2,000 bands come to South by Southwest to showcase their music for industry insiders, journalists and fans. SXSW draws some big names, but the core of the festival is in the emerging artists who play multiple sets for an informed – and possibly influential – audience. Saatchi’s music producer Ryan Fitch was in Austin speaking at a music-related event, and he was kind enough to bring his camera and take some photos of his favorite bands. He also put together a rocking Spotify playlist of some of this year’s most buzzed about acts.
