JESSICA GROSE (Deputy Editor, NYMag’s Vulture.com)
Jessica Grose is the deputy editor of Vulture, New York Magazine’s culture site. She was previously a senior editor at Slate and an editor at Jezebel. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, Glamour, Marie Claire, Spin, Salon.com, and several other publications. Her debut novel, Sad Desk Salad, will be out in 2012 from William Morrow/HarperCollins. She lives in Brooklyn.
MATT LOUNSBURY (Director of Operations, STUMPTOWN COFFEE)
Matt Lounsbury is the Director of operations at Stumptown Coffee. Over the past ten years, the Portland-based coffee company has been a major player in revolutionizing the way coffee is thought about, drank, bought and traded. They expanded to NYC in 2009, and there beans can be found in some of the best (and hippest) restaurants and coffee shops in the city.
BRENDA ZLAMANY (Artist, PROJECT 888)
Brenda Zlamany lives and works in Brooklyn. Her most recent project, 888: Portraits of Taiwan is a multimedia installation incorporating aspects of traditional artwork (portraiture, watercolor), performance art (living the production of the work; photographing subjects with the finished portrait), and conceptual art. It ran from January to February at the Museum of Contemporary Art: Tapei.
TOM BERNARD (President/Co-Founder, SONY PICTURES CLASSICS)
Tom Bernard is the co-president and co-founder of Sony Pictures Classics. An autonomous division of Sony Pictures Entertainment founded in 1991, they produce, and acquire independent films from around the world. In recent years, Tom has helped produce and distribute films as varied as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Rachel Getting Married, and Midnight in Paris.
ANALISA BALARES (CEO/Founder, WOMENSPHERE)
Analisa founded WOMENSPHERE, a global leadership community inspiring and connecting women leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, scientists, creators, financiers, and trailblazing women. Since 2008, they’ve convened thousands through over 20 conferences on leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability in the US and Europe. Analisa is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, and alumna of Harvard Business School, Mount Holyoke College, Goldman Sachs and Microsoft.
JOSEPH PARK (CEO, BLUEFLY.com)
Joseph Park is the CEO of Bluefly.com, one of the most successful online fashion retailers in the world. In the past he’s been SVP of Consumer Digital Products at HarperCollins, developed new businesses/start-ups within Amazon.com and co-founded Kozmo.com, the first Internet retailer to provide same-day, one-hour delivery service to consumers.
JONNY RODGERS (Composer/Musician)
Jonny Rodgers writes beautiful, quirky songs using tuned wine glasses, guitars, electronics and a unique chamber orchestra. He has composed/produced chamber, orchestral and choral music for concert, dance, film and theater. His new album, The Aviary, was written and scored as a live show with a 9-piece chamber orchestra featuring unusual elements such as Tuned Wine Glasses and Steel Drum.
