7×7 :: 6th Edition :: The Lineup

September 13, 2012 |

In exactly three weeks SaatchiNY will host 7×7: 6th Edition as part of Advertising Week. It’s going to be a blast! We’d like to take this opportunity to introduce the lineup for our latest go-round of intellectually stimulating micro-entertainment. We’ve got a group of smart, funny, rockin’ and sometimes all-of-the-above presenters, including our own CCO Con Williamson.  Stay tuned for more information on ticketing, etc, in the weeks to come!

Jason Silva – Performance Philosopher (@jasonsilva)

Described as a “Performance Philosopher,” Jason Silva’s poetic, impassioned and inspirational take on scientific and technological advancements, riveting on-stage delivery style, and hyper-enthusiastic insights on creativity, innovation, technology, philosophy and the human condition are infectious. From 2005 to 2011, he was a presenter on Current TV, Al Gore’s Emmy-winning, independent cable network, where he hosted, wrote and produced more than 100 hours of original content.

Jay Wexler – Historian/Author

Jay Wexler is a professor at the Boston University School of Law, a former law clerk to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and a widely published humor writer whose work has appeared in places like the Boston Globe, Huffington Post, McSweeney’s, Salon, and Spy.  His three books are Holy Hullabaloos: A Road Trip to the Battleground of the Church/State Wars, The Odd Clauses: Understanding the Constitution Through Ten of its Most Curious Provisions, and The Adventures of Ed Tuttle, Associate Justice, and Other Stories.

Alexa Von Tobel – CEO, Learnvest (@alexavontobel)

Alexa von Tobel is the founder and CEO of LearnVest.com, a groundbreaking personal finance and lifestyle website. Developed in 2006 when she realized she, and most of her peers, had never had any formal education on how to effectively manage their finances,  LearnVest was created to make trusted personal financial information accessible to millions of the “99%” across the country.

Clown – Slipknot Percussionist (@MShawnCrahan)

Michael Shawn Crahan, more commonly known by his stage persona “Clown”, is an American musician, music producer, and artist. He is best known as one of the two custom percussionists and co-founder of the Grammy-winning Rock band Slipknot.

Jennifer Miller – Novelist, Year of the Gadfly (@propjen)

Jennifer Miller is author of The Year of the Gadfly (Harcourt, 2012) and Inheriting The Holy Land (Ballantine, 2005). Her journalism has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post Magazine, Christian Science Monitor, Marie Claire, Allure, Salon.com, Fast Company, The Millions and the Daily Beast. Last year Movember Worldwide raised over $126 million globally for prostate cancer and depression initiatives.

Con Williamson – SaatchiNY Chief Creative Officer (@conway_212)

Con Williamson is the Chief Creative Officer at Saatchi & Saatchi New York. He describes his working style as vibrant and loud. He loves making stuff and loves to do it with smart people. He’s a big believer in the collective, which is where ideas come from.  His approach to problem-solving is the big Italian family dinner where you get everyone around the table, it’s rowdy and chaotic, and you get all the ideas out on the table. Ideas come first, and great ideas can come from anyone.

    Would love to buy the $7 tickets, but the link takes you to a site where you have to buy a $25 ticket? Or do we just buy the $7 tickets at the door? Thank you!
