Today we’d like to point you in the direction of IAMS, where the SaatchiNY team has put together a great batch of heartwarming work. The “Keep Love Strong” campaign showcases the unconditional love between people and their pets and the important role premium nutrition like Iams plays in keeping their bodies as strong as their love.  Five TV spots (inspired by real stories – three dogs and two cats) will begin airing in early December, followed by five print ads you’ll see beginning in February 2013.  the hearts of consumers and resonate strongly since this bond is universal among all pet owners.

And here’s where the fun really starts. Prior to the TV launch, we’ve decided to ask the brand’s Facebook fans to choose the stories that speak most to them the most – and the winner will be the first to hit the airwaves. Today is the last day of voting, and we’d like to encourage you to head over to the IAMS Facebook page and vote for your favorite!

Operation #CoatDrop a Success

Tuesday, November 27th, 2012

Happy Holidays (is it too soon to start saying that?)! To set the festive mood, we’d like to share a brief picture of our pre-Thanksgiving #CoatDrop charity drive. The above time lapse captures the set-up, the donations, and even a bit of Grinchian theft (we’re look at you Woody Wright).

On the whole, operation #CoatDrop for Sandy Relief was a big success. The NY office managed to collect over 250 coats for local residents in need and we and even managed to inspire our friends at Saatchi LA, Team One and Saatchi S to host their own #CoatDrop events later this month. One team, one dream indeed.

Special thanks to the team here who pulled everything together, especially:

Project organizers: Shaleen Sahay, Caitlin Pavelle, Kathleen Giacobello

Works of Love

Tuesday, November 20th, 2012

Saatchi is known the world round as “the Lovemarks Company,” and we’re on the hunt for some new music to fit that billing. Building on the success of last year’s Holiday “Love Mix,” the worldwide network is now accepting submissions from Saatchi & Saatchi employees with an ear for music and an interest in being heard.

Starting now, we’re looking for talented musicians (or producers/DJ’s, for that matter) around the network to create songs for our 2012 mix tape – Works of Love. The best songs from around the globe will be compiled into an album and brought to life in a fun way via Pinterest.

Still interested? Here’s how to participate:

Step One – Write an original song about, relating to or at least referring to love.
Step Two – Record said song.
Step Three – Email Norma Clarke for instructions on where to send it, along with a cover design for the single, creative credits and a photo of yourself (or the band if you’re a group).
Step Four – Make sure you do all of that before the deadline of Friday, December 7th.

H&S /// TNH

Monday, November 19th, 2012

Earlier this month, members of SaatchiNY’s Head & Shoulders team (and Syracuse University alumni) Neil Levin and Adam Beilman visited their alma mater to kick off a new partnership. TNH, the student-run advertising agency at Syracuse University, was looking for new ways to get students professional experience. They reached out to Adam – class of 2011 alum and a former president of the organization, and a competition was born. the idea – get the students some great experience, while at the same time help meet a business need for one of our clients.

The assignment – Conduct research, write a brief, and produce a campaign to get college-aged women interested in and using the Head & Shoulders brand. The challenge lasted a little over 1 month. On the final day each team presented their work to Adam, Neil, and professors (who happen to be Saatchi alums themselves) Ed Russell and Brian Sheehan.

Four teams competed, and a lot of fantastic ideas were shared.  The judges awarded the plaudits to an agency called Agency 228, under the account leadership of junior Gianna Whitver and strategic direction from senior and former Saatchi intern Lucie Kittel.

“It’s great experience for the students, and we’re coming back with a bunch of cool stuff to take to our clients,” Neil said.
