Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come. We’d like to officially introduce you to our 7 presenters for the 7×7: Seventh Edition. We’ve got a chef/food TV favorite, a location scout, a teacher/poet, a web TV host, a social media whiz, a planning director and a kindness ambassador. The whole cast and crew listed for you below, and we really can’t stress how happy we are to have each and every one of them.
Taylor Mali – Poet & Educator
Taylor Mali is one of the most well-known poets to have emerged from the poetry slam movement and one of the original poets to appear on the HBO series “Def Poetry Jam.” A four-time National Poetry Slam champion, he is the author of two collections of poetry and a book of essays, “What Teachers Make: In Praise of the Greatest Job in the World.”
Spike Mendelsohn (Top Chef, Good Stuff Eatery)
Spike Mendelsohn is a chef and restaurateur best-known for his appearances on Top Chef and Top Chef All-Stars. During his career he’s worked with some of the biggest names in food, including Thomas Keller at Bouchon, and The Maccioni Family at Le Cirque. He currently owns and operates Good Stuff Eatery and We, the Pizza in Washington DC. His first cookbook “The Good Stuff Cookbook” features American comfort food classics and favorites that are just right for the home cook.
Orly Wahba – Founder of Lifevest Inside
Orly Wahba is an educator, entrepreneur, and community activist passionate about inspiring and motivating people to make the world a kinder place. She’s the founder/CEO of Life Vest Inside, a non-profit with a mission to empower and unite the world with kindness.
LVI shot to international attention when Orly’s film Kindness Boomerang went viral, receiving over 20 million views and counting.
Nick Carr – Location Scout, Founder, ScoutingNY.com
Nick Carr is a professional movie location scout in New York City, and has helped find the locations for such films as Spiderman 3, The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3, The Smurfs, and Martin Scorsese’s upcoming The Wolf of Wall Street. He is also the creator of Scouting NY (ScoutingNY.com), a travel website where he documents the many fascinating and unusual locations he comes across in his travels as a scout.
Jen Rubio – Head of Social Media, Warby Parker
Jen Rubio oversees social media and editorial strategy, campaigns, and partnerships at Warby Parker, a company determined to radically transform the eyewear industry. Jen Rubio has been a creative strategist for startups and big brands alike, viewing her work as a catalyst for creating meaningful experiences between people and brands. She’s also an adventurer at heart, has spent time on all seven continents and over 35 countries, and is a licensed pilot.
Sarah Austin – Host, Pop 17
Sarah Austin claims to be the Internet’s first “life-caster” by broadcasting her every move for the world to see. Her bubbly personality and high energy brings millions of hits to her site every month. She’s the creator and host of Pop 17, as well as a featured cast member on Bravo’s Start-ups: Silicon Valley.
Gareth Goodall – Head of Planning, Saatchi & Saatchi NY
Gareth Goodall is the Head of Planning Saatchi & Saatchi NY. He has accrued multiple awards for his insights and leadership in the advertising space. During his time as Managing Partner of Fallon London, he oversaw two Agency of the Year Awards and earned a place on both Campaign’s Top 10 Planners in London list and The Independent’s 100 Most Influential People in British Creative Industries.
