If you didn’t see the story already in Ad Age, we wanted to give a shout out to one of our client’s who’s been doing a whole lot of good in the past few weeks – Duracell. The battery maker certainly understands the issues the region is facing post-Sandy (their power was knocked out with everyone else), so it shouldn’t be a surprise that they were one of the first brands on the ground after the storm helping people out.
Duracell’s rapid response mobile power stations have been making the rounds since the day after the storm, handing out free batteries and giving people a safe, dry place to charge their phones and computers. It might seem like a little thing, but for those of us who went without our phones for a week – it’s really difficult to be unable to let family and friends elsewhere know that everything’s ok. In the past week, some of the SaatchiNY team (shout-out to Jamie Daigle & Mark Rolland) have been lending a hand on the ground with the rapid response truck and the makeshift community center in Island Park (at Warwick & Long Beach Rd). Here are a few photos they took while out and about. If you haven’t already, now would also be a good time to go and like the brand on Facebook. We think they’ve earned it.
