Super Stain

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2013

The match-up for Super Bowl Sunday is set and there’s nothing left to do but sit back, wait, and get excited about the commercials. And with the intriguing brother vs. brother story-line, we’re genuinely excited for the football too (lack-of-NYC-teams-aside).

We’re ALSO excited that one of our spots for Tide (above) is in the running for CBS’s all-time best Super Bowl Commercial. We know we already mentioned this last week, but voting is still open . .  . so consider it a gentle reminder to go here and cast yours now. If we make it to the final three, the spot will be part of the live vote to determine the all-time winner.

Power Forward

Wednesday, November 14th, 2012

If you didn’t see the story already in Ad Age, we wanted to give a shout out to one of our client’s who’s been doing a whole lot of good in the past few weeks – Duracell. The battery maker certainly understands the issues the region is facing post-Sandy (their power was knocked out with everyone else), so it shouldn’t be a surprise that they were one of the first brands on the ground after the storm helping people out.

Duracell’s rapid response mobile power stations have been making the rounds since the day after the storm, handing out free batteries and giving people a safe, dry place to charge their phones and computers. It might seem like a little thing, but for those of us who went without our phones for a week – it’s really difficult to be unable to let family and friends elsewhere know that everything’s ok. In the past week, some of the SaatchiNY team (shout-out to Jamie Daigle & Mark Rolland) have been lending a hand on the ground with the rapid response truck and the makeshift community center in Island Park (at Warwick & Long Beach Rd). Here are a few photos they took while out and about.  If you haven’t already, now would also be a good time to go and like the brand on Facebook. We think they’ve earned it.

Ad Age Talks Lenovo

Thursday, October 11th, 2012

If you missed it yesterday we’d like to point you in the direction of Ad Age, who has a lovely article on the latest (massive) campaign coming down the pipe for Lenovo. To quote a summary, “the campaign backs four new convertible products, which fold, twist or detach, but will first feature the IdeaPad Yoga, an Ultrabook laptop with a tablet screen that folds completely flat.”  And the Lenovo team here at SaatchiNY has been hard at work on another short film, which we’ll have on H/H for your enjoyment a bit later this month.

The Ad Age piece is a must read for anyone at Saatchi not only because of the insight into the campaign and great quotes from Lenovo CMO David Roman, but also because there’s a nice shout out for our very own Brian Carley. So what are you waiting for? Make like the Do Devil and read up!

Trust Your Power

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012

Professional athletes are role models for a lot of people. They’re rich, they’re famous, and they almost always have been blessed with some amazing physical abilities, so it’s easy to overlook the level of work and commitment that went into them reaching the highest level of their respective sports.

The new spot SaatchiNY put together for Duracell batteries takes a look inside the life and training of one such individual – Patrick Willis of the San Francisco 49ers. “Trust Your Power” follows Patrick from childhood all the way up to the NFL, and we’re really proud of the final product. Take a look, share with your friends.

Deep Like Me

Wednesday, September 5th, 2012

Last season, as you may recall, Head & Shoulders followed Troy Polamalu as he exploited the naivete of museum-goers at Madame Tussaud’s wax museum. Now in his fourth year with Head & Shoulders, Troy is going deeper than ever before with a new campaign for Head & Shoulders Deep Clean. When the guys at Saatchi discovered just how deep Troy really was, they gave him the perfect platform to talk about our new product: behind the piano on the fifty yard line, with appropriate rings and tails. If only we could all be deep, like Troy.
